As a training consultant for Stenograph for over 20 years, I have had the opportunity to travel and work with many different reporters and captioners.

I've been fortunate enough to have worked with many interesting people both locally and abroad.

My territory expands from here in Chicago to anywhere the official language is English and a democratic society with transcripts of record are produced or close captioning is provided.

Court Reporters can be found in the fast speaking country of Ireland to the more reserve areas of England to down under in Australia. If you are an island person, don't forget the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, and Tortola to mention just a few places I've been lucky enough to go and help out in. Africa is another place your skills are used.

The United Nations also has been active part of my training career from the Internal Criminal Tribunal of Rwanda, to the Special Court of Sierra Leone and more recently the International Criminal Court for Darfur Sudan.

One thing I have learned is that there is no one standard way to use the software, nor is there one standard style of transcript. Did you know that in Australia dashes are not the same as in US transcripts? Or that a period is called a Full Stop?

So no matter whether you live in Europe, Africa, the UK, Australia, Canada, or the US your reporting or captioning career is an inportant part of the process, and if you need help along the way you can always count on me.

Remember every training has it's own unique set of situations and outcomes. I'm working on a few more as of this writing, and whether you're working as a reporter or captioner I hope to help work with you at some time in the future.

Learning is a process. Excellence is a Habit.

Cheers for now!
